Face forward is a body of work that explores the relationship between the effects of the sun and abiotic features within a landscape.


Lil has produced a series of light boxes and collages, creating an idyllic yet sometimes grotesque, poetic sequence of images. These works represent the tension and dissonance of the human condition.


They depict the unavoidable conflict  and at the same time, the inherent beauty  of being human.


Using techniques such as image transfer, a highly physical process applied to handmade paper, the material is pushed to its limits.


Through both the process and the resulting images, Lil seeks to evoke a sense of ambiguity and mystery.

Face forward は、太陽の影響と風景における非生物的要素（無機的要素）との関係性を探求する作品群です。


Lilは、ライトボックスやコラージュのシリーズを制作し、理想的でありながら時にグロテスクさも帯びた、詩的なイメージの連なりを生み出しています。それらは、人間という存在に内在する緊張や不協和を表現し、人であることの避けがたい葛藤と、それでもなお美しい側面を描き出しています。


本作では、ハンドメイドの紙に対して強い物理的負荷をかける「イメージ転写」などの技法が用いられ、素材の限界に迫る制作が行われています。



また、制作プロセスや生成されるイメージにおいて、曖昧さや神秘性を立ち上げることが試みられています。
